About Us

South Coast Design | Build is a custom new home building company located in Eastern Ontario. 

We envision a future where all homes are net zero. Our homes provide comfort, functionality, sustainability, and enjoyment through good design. All new homes come with a full Tarion New Home Warranty, giving you confidence. 

Who We Are

Tyler Verkerk

Tyler has designed and built over 100 new homes in Eastern Ontario. He has a BCIN License to design residential and commercial buildings, and he designs with sustainability, budget, and quality at top of mind. As a builder, he has the unique ability to design and price a build concurrently, helping clients stay on budget and still get exactly what they want. Tyler project manages our builds, staying in touch daily with subtrades and doing a substantial amount of the custom work himself to make sure it turns out just right. 

Elizabeth Green-Verkerk

Elizabeth is a management consultant, providing administrative support - and the occasional kitchen install - to South Coast's projects. She's a whiz with a chop saw, but happiest behind the scenes. She also supervises the Jr. Builders, both of whom are too little for power tools just yet.

We believe you deserve to love your home. 

We built our first home together in 2011. It became our family home where we got married and had our kids. We see every day how having a beautifully-designed, well-built home that we love improves our lives, and in 2021 we launched South Coast Design | Build so that we could make lives better through good design.
